A Guide to the Next Few Weeks

You don’t reach the ripe old age of 313 without encountering a few bumps in the road. 


So, following the recent change to government restrictions, we have closed our stores in The Royal Exchange and St Pancras International along with all of our restaurants and bars until 2nd December, or until further guidance is issued stating otherwise. 


We’re happy to say that our Lower Ground, Ground and First Floor Food Halls in Piccadilly are still open and ready to serve the local community, while our Heathrow Terminal 5 outpost is open too. And for all our customers, don’t forget you can still shop online with us for fast UK & international delivery.

What to Expect When You Visit Our Stores

In line with current easing of government restrictions, all Piccadilly floors with the exception of the Third Floor are now open. Our sites at St Pancras International, The Royal Exchange and Heathrow Terminal 5 are also open once again.


To safeguard everyone we have made changes to the way you shop with us. We ask you to please follow the guidelines below, signage instore and the requests of our team who are there for your safety.




Wear your face covering. This should cover both your nose and mouth. 1. Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth. If you are exempt we will politely request that you wear a visor (which we are happy to provide) in its place – this is for the protection of you, other customers and our team who are continuing to be at your service.


2. Maintain social distance at all times. This includes when queuing and please minimise interaction with displays and counters.


3. Be kind and respectful. Our team will do everything they can to help you, but we will not tolerate abuse or aggressive behaviour towards our staff or other customers.


4. Please visit the store alone, except if you need specific assistance. If you are accompanied by children, please supervise them at all times and follow social distancing guidelines. 





You may be required to queue outside.


You can help avoid the queues by arriving outside peak hours. The store is busiest between 3-6pm, and quieter early morning or later in the evening.




Once in.


Please follow the flow management system that we have implemented to enable social distancing. Pay attention to instore signage and follow the guidance of our team who are there to help keep everyone safe.


Please use the stairs located at the front and side of the store, leaving the lifts available for those most in need of them.


Please also be aware of your fellow shoppers both when queuing and moving about the store and maintain social distancing at all times.


When paying, please do not lean on the counters.





The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at The Royal Exchange and 45 Jermyn St are now both open for outdoor dining. As with all other businesses, we adhere to all government protocols, including:


1. We are supporting NHS Test and Trace, and we will ask all of our guests over the age of 16 to check into our restaurants. This can be done quickly and easily using the NHS COVID-19 app, by scanning our NHS QR code poster; alternatively you can provide us your details at your reception which will be held securely. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who does no cooperate.


2. We kindly ask that you arrive no earlier than ten minutes before your booking time, as waiting is not allowed.


3. Please wear your mask any time you are not seated.


4. Please observe our flow management system which has been designed to keep us all safe. 



The Parlour is also open for takeaway in Piccadilly. Our remaining restaurants and bars will all reopen on 17th May, and bookings are now open.


If you don't feel like visiting us, delivery for local residents within a three-mile radius is available from our Piccadilly Food Halls and 45 Jermyn St. Simply order via the SUPPER app and website. .

If you are visiting one of our restaurants please arrive no more than 15 minutes early for your reservation to allow social distancing from other guests. Find out more here


For those with a booking at one of our restaurants, there is no need for you to join the queue. Instead, we kindly request that you proceed straight to our Piccadilly West Entrance - the first entrance when arriving along Piccadilly from Green Park or second if you're arriving from Piccadilly Circus - where a host will be waiting to greet and welcome you in.



We’re Open and Ready To Welcome You


We’re pleased to say that the Food Halls on the Lower Ground and Ground Floors of our Piccadilly store are all still open and ready to welcome local residents.


Our stores at St Pancras International, The Royal Exchange and Heathrow Terminal 5 are also open.




Safety Is Our Utmost Priority


The safety of our staff and customers is our utmost priority, which is why we’ve put a number of safety measures in place throughout our stores.


We’ve installed hand sanitiser points and till safety screens, while mask wearing and social distancing are mandatory. Our staff have undergone Covid-19 training and are wearing safety visors – we assure you they are smiling beneath them. 




Takeaway Options Are Available


In line with Tier 4 restrictions all of our restaurants and bars are closed, but takeaway options are available – including teas, coffees and build-your-own hot chocolates from The Parlour, and ready-to-eat fresh pasta, salads, Scotch eggs, and and more from the Lower Ground Floor.

Our Food Halls on the Lower Ground Floor are bursting with feasting delights, on the Ground Floor you’ll discover our Chocolate Wonderland, and First Floor is now home to our spacious Christmas Food Hall.


Head to Second Floor for fragrance and beauty and discover our Christmas Shop on Third Floor.




Delicious Dining, Delivered   


Local residents in Piccadilly and The Royal Exchange are able to order from 45 Jermyn Street and The Fortnum's Bar & Restaurant at The Royal Exchange via the SUPPER app and website.


Our Fortnum’s at Home service is also available too, and you can order ready-to-dine-on comfort food straight from our Piccadilly Food Halls.




Eat, Drink & Be Merry


Just in time for the festivities to begin! Join us for some extraordinary food and tipples this December, from a special festive Afternoon Tea menu at The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon and alpine fondues at The Lodge at Bar 3’6, to Christmas turkey and all the trimmings at The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at The Royal Exchange.

Book Ahead for December


Unfortunately if you have a restaurant booking with us before 2nd December, it has automatically been cancelled.


The good news is that our book is open to take reservations from 2nd December in case you’d like to plan ahead and book a future date at one of our restaurants in the lead up to Christmas or beyond. 




Click and Collect is Still Available


Our Click and Collect Service in Piccadilly is operating until 25th November, meaning that until then you can shop online with us and pick up from our flagship.


Please note that our Click and Collect service is unavailable at our Royal Exchange and St Pancras International outposts during this time.
