This summer, we’ve asked some of our favourite foodies to share a little of their expertise with us, as we celebrate the sunniest season with a series of mouthwatering recipes, adventures and more.
Cook, food stylist and author Benjamina Ebuehi’s lifelong love of sweet things has always inspired her to create extraordinary yet accessible recipes with unique flavour profiles. Benjamina competed on The Great British Bake Off in 2016, finishing as a quarter finalist, and has gone on to write three cookbooks: The New Way to Cake, A Good Day to Bake and I’ll Bring Dessert. We joined Benjamina one sunny afternoon, where she shared with us recipes and her summer hosting at home tips, extolling the virtues of going for “something that doesn’t require hours of prep and can be put together fairly quickly”.
“A favourite summer memory would be from a couple of years ago. I spent my birthday in Sicily with a group of friends and had the best few days in the sun eating, laughing, exploring and enjoying each other’s company. I’m someone who loves hosting people and making sure everyone is well fed so I made sure to find some of the best food and baked goods for us to feast on throughout the trip.”

Benjamina takes hosting very seriously, so it’s important she has all her Fortnum’s favourites at the table. “These are one of my all time favourite biscuits,” she says about our Gingerlossus biscuits, and recommends our Sparkling Tea as “such a good choice for a non alcoholic drink”.
