Summer is Served
WITH GILL MELLER
This summer, we’ve asked some of our favourite foodies to share a little of their expertise with us, as we celebrate the sunniest season with a series of mouthwatering recipes, adventures and more.
Cook, writer, sailor, gardener, beekeeper, Gill Meller is renowned throughout the food world both for his time as head chef at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage and for his best-selling cookbook ‘Gather’ — an exceptional collection of recipes which take inspiration from Gill's local landscape, and the amazing farmers, growers and fishermen who produce the ingredients he uses.
“The first time I grilled duck breasts on an open fire was at the height of summer, in a beautiful old walled garden in southern France. We cooked them that evening under the fig tree, surrounded by the hum of cicadas. It’s a powerful memory that comes back to me every time I enjoy good food on a warm summers day.”
