Mr Yoshida’s Yuzu Marmalade, Dalemain Japan 2023 Winner, 220g

Mr Yoshida's Hana Yuzu Marmalade was the winner of the 2023 double-gold Dalemain Japan marmalade awards. This bright yellow marmalade has a medium cut finish and a fragrant yuzu flavour.

Mr Yoshida is retired and had never made marmalade before entering the Dalemain awards; he previously used the hana yuzu (an ornamental variety of yuzu) grown in his garden as essential oils for his bath - it is particularly fragrant and many people in Japan use yuzu for their baths, rather than for cooking. On retirement Mr Yoshida started to make marmalade with yuzu instead, resulting in his award-winning jars. He is from Kanagawa prefecture, which is just south of Tokyo in Japan.

50p from the sale of each marmalade is donated to Adult Day Care Centre Iki-iki Petit Farm in Yawatahama, Japan, where the 2023 Dalemain Japan awards were hosted.
