Fortnum's 15 Year Old Amontillado, Williams & Humbert, Half Bottle

Williams & Humbert has been producing exceptional Sherries since 1877 and remains one of the great names of Jerez. This Amontillado En Rama begins life as a Fino, ageing initially under flor before undergoing a second phase of oxidative maturation. Produced from Palomino grapes grown on the albariza soils of Añina and Carrascal, it spends an average of fifteen years ageing in cask, gaining remarkable depth and complexity. Bottled ‘en rama’ (meaning straight from the cask, with minimal intervention), it retains all the intensity and character of the cellar. Richly aromatic and beautifully dry, it displays layers of toasted nuts, citrus peel and spice, making it one of the most versatile styles of Sherry.

Tasting Note
This is a superb example of aged Amontillado. Beautifully dry and complex, with notes of hazelnut, dried citrus peel, warm spice and a savoury, lingering finish.
