What To Drink At Fortnum's With Helen McGinn | Summer Discovery Case
WHAT TO DRINK AT FORTNUM'S
WITH HELEN McGINN
The Summer Discovery Case

As summer romps on, continuing to wrap us in warm weather and encourage outdoor adventures, award-winning wine expert, presenter and author Helen McGinn, aka @knackeredmother, joins us for her fourth curated wine case - the summer discovery edit. Cin Cin!
‘I’m thrilled to share my latest Fortnum’s wine edit and this one’s all about shining a light on some of the lesser-known wine regions, grapes and styles. From tiny appellations to under-the-radar regions and grapes, this case has got it all from crisp whites to orange wines and ridiculously good reds. I hope you love them as much as I do!'
1.
Murgas Bucelas Branco
£21.95
From the tiny appellation of Bucelas just outside Lisbon in Portugal, this brilliant bright white is made from the rare Arinto grape. If you like Chablis, you’ll love this!

2.
Etna Rosso by Pietradolce
£28.95
This vibrant Sicilian red is made from the little-known Nerello Mascalese grape grown in the foothills of Mount Etna. The volcanic soils give the wine something of an energy boost!
3.
Saumur Rouge Mazurique by Arnaud Lambert
£23
You might know and love Cabernet Sauvignon but its parent grape Cabernet Franc has a fast-growing fan base among wine afficionados. This organic one from a pioneering winemaker in the Loire Valley is quite the discovery.

‘When Fortnum’s asked if I’d like to collaborate on some wine selections I wondered if I might be dreaming. Seriously – I’ve loved the Fortnum’s wine shop for years, often finding an excuse to wander the aisles in the name of research. A real hidden gem, the choice of wines is surprisingly eclectic with everything from brilliant go-to bottles to something a little (or a lot) more special from many of the world’s best wine producers. Join me as I journey through the Fortnum & Mason wine range and discover for yourself just how much joy they bring to the table!’

4.
Vinos Naturales Organic Orange Chardonnay
£19
Yet to try an orange wine? This one’s a great way to discover what all the fuss is about! Made by a top Argentinian producer from the Chardonnay grape, it’s got plenty of taste and tang to it.
5.
The Dreamer Viognier, Philip Shaw
£19.95
The Orange wine region in Australia flies relatively under the radar but is right up there when it comes to producing quality wines with real character. This Viognier from Philip Shaw is positively dreamy.

6.
Naoussa Xinomarvro by Thymiopoulos
£21.95
Greece has been making waves on the wine scene in recent years and this incredible red made from the Xinomavro grape by one of the country’s star winemakers is a game-changer!
