Our Distillery
A distillery in the heart of Fortnum's? It might sound like a myth, but the copper still in the heart of our 3rd floor is very real indeed.
And speaking of myths: it's customary to name a new still after a figure from Greek mythology, and we've named ours after Amalthea, the goat who fed the infant Zeus.
The story goes that the young Zeus accidentally broke Amalthea's horn while the two were playing and from that moment on the horn became known as the Horn of Amalthea, or the Cornucopia. An eternal symbol of abundance, the horn would always be filled with whatever its owner desired.
We craft two gins in our copper still at Piccadilly: our traditional London Dry and extraordinary Pink Gin.

Amalthea Dry Gin
Elegant and abundant flavours of juniper and coriander, with subtle notes of citrus, rose and liquorice. Deliciously traditional.

Amalthea Pink Gin
Warming juniper, cardamom and coriander notes, with hints of rhubarb, rose, hibiscus and our Earl Grey tea. Pretty in pink.

And whether you're a budding cook just starting your kitchen library or a seasoned chef in search of new food stories, the shelves of our Book Shop are home to an assortment of extraordinary reads, from familiar names and new talents alike.

Our world famous hampers have a home of their own on our 3rd floor. In this dedicated space, you can explore wickers filled by our in-house experts, or create a hamper of your own with a little assistance from a Fortnum's Red Coat.
In fact, within our Personalisation Hub, almost everything can be tailored to your liking – from your hamper’s mouthwatering contents, to the linings and luggage tags. We'll even help personalise individual items for your hamper: so whether you need a Champagne bottle with a special message on its label or a bespoke tea blended by our very own Tearistas, we're on hand to help.
No wonder we call them our Parcels of Joy.
