3'6 Bar, Fortnum & Mason 3'6 Bar, Fortnum & Mason

3'6 Bar

Set in a secluded corner of our Third Floor, 3’6 is a relaxed, intimate spot for all visitors to enjoy. And in typical Fortnum's fashion, its name hides a fascinating story. In the 1930s, customers could pay to have Fortnum's throw a cocktail party in their home. The price per head (for everything excluding the alcohol, unfortunately) was three shilling and sixpence - written as 3'6 in old money. The location to order was not too far from where the bar itself now stands.

Our drinks menu includes a selection of iconic cocktails, and a huge range of spirits, from cognacs to whiskies and all points between. So too, Fortnum's famous tea. Also boasting a delicious food menu of light bites and sweets.

This year we’re excited to bring the joy of the Fortnum’s Lodge to 3’6 Bar for the first time. Formerly the go-to destination for the après-skate crowd at Somerset House, in 2020 our lodge will bring festive cheer to our many Christmas visitors at 181 Piccadilly. Enjoy all of your Fortnum’s feasting favourites, from classics – such as Whole Baked Camembert, Fondue, Scotch Egg and Pigs in Blankets – to delicious small plates, moreish hot chocolate and a menu of merry tipples. There’s no better place to celebrate after a successful day of Christmas shopping.

From 15th March - 18th April, we’re asking guests to donate £1 to #CookforUkraine, and we’ll match it — so essential supplies can reach those who need them.
