Garden Song at Fortnum's

The Garden Song Range
Inspired by the rooftop garden crowning our Piccadilly home, allow us to introduce you to Garden Song: a beautiful new bath and body range arriving at Fortnum's this year. Grown in our very own Apothecary Garden in Somerset, this range is blooming with the purest botanicals and infused with soothing and exquisite fragrances that will carry your senses to the calm sanctuary of classic English garden in all its summertime splendour.
From luxury hand creams to body lotions and scented candles for those relaxing evenings in, this range proudly continues a centuries-old tradition at Fortnum's of championining sustainability. Not only is it all made locally, we have also worked with leading natural perfumer Richard Howard to bring the range to life.

Meet the Maker
The person behind these beautiful scents is Richard Howard, who is regarded as a leading natural perfumer. He has spent over twenty-five years evolving the craft of natural perfumery, delivering to his audience a deeper connection through his perfumes to the natural world. “Through our sense of smell, natural perfumes can interact with our subconscious," says Richard. "They can transcend a language not defined by words, triggering memories, emotions, and sensual impulses. Mindful of this, the perfumer’s journey is guided by respect of the plant essences and the person experiencing them. There is no compromise in this process and within this artform science and adventure is endless.”
Richard works in his Apothecary Garden, producing plant isolates, hydrolats, extracts, infusions, macerates and tinctures, all of the highest potency. Using organic and biodynamic principles which specialise in the respect of every process, the plants we grow are nurtured through their journey with a deep understanding - from soil, seed, growth, harvest and preparation.

Behind the Design
Garden Song is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional English country garden. It's a celebration of Fortnum’s heritage, and the fragrances are inspired by nature. From the rooftops at Piccadilly to the kitchen garden, abundant with fruit, vegetables, and herbs, its beautiful fragrances range from camomile, lavender and rosemary to uplifting aromas of geranium and juniper.
The design plays on the garden theme, with pared-back and elegant aesthetics that reflect a calming and natural range. The floral illustrations on the packaging were created by Texas native Mia Carameros, and they were inspired by the wild garden based in
Somerset where the botanicals have been sourced.

A Celebration of Sustainability
At the heart of this range is its sustainability, something that has been a part of Fortnum's story since the beginning. Each Garden Song product comes in packaging that can recycled, refilled and reloved.
True beauty is nurturing a person's whole being whilst respecting nature and each other, which is why the formulations behind the range are driven fundamentally by high-quality natural ingredients.
