Cartizze is the most prestigious cru in Valdobbiadene Prosecco region, and this Prosecco is made by Paolo Zucchetto and his son, Carlo, farm just 5.5 ha of vineyards in the heart of the region.
All the grapes are harvested by hand and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks before bottling the following spring. In the glass it shows impressions of white peach and apricot, with a hint of apple, accompanied by a silky and smooth palate. A pleasant note of glazed almond on the aftertaste takes you to a lingering ﬁnish.
The perfect conclusion to a memorable dinner, this Italian sparkling pairs well with all manner of desserts, from pastries to fruit tarts. It’s also an excellent match with mild, double or triple-cream cheeses, or shell ﬁsh, such as lobster, crab and scallops.
