Prosecco is the name of both the grape and one of Italy’s best-loved sparkling wines. The Zucchetto family cultivate 5ha of Prosecco vineyards in the heart of the DOCG near the town of Valdobbiadene. Here the river Plave has carved steep slopes in the foothills of the Dolomites and created the perfect conditions in which to produce aromatic sparkling wines.
All the grapes are harvested by hand and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks before bottling the following spring. In the glass it shows a fine and persistent mousse with notes of white peach, apricot and melon.
A classic Italian aperitif, this Prosecco also pairs well with shellfish including lobster, crab and scallops.
Please note we are in the process of refreshing some of the labels across our wine and spirits collection, so your bottle might look different to the one pictured.

Magnums Are Merrier...
A magnum from Fortnum’s is more than simply impressive in size. Due to the relatively smaller volume of air in contact, the wine in a magnum bottle actually ages more gracefully, creating additional complexity of aroma and flavour. When it comes to Champagne and Sparkling wines in particular, magnums also produce finer, more persistent bubbles, and are less affected by temperature changes — so the liquid inside can better retain its integrity and all-important effervescence. Or in other words: if your wine could talk, it would tell you that it's altogether more content in a bigger bottle.
