Fortnum's Valpolicella, Corte Sant'Alda, 75cl

Marinella Camerani makes wine – Amarone as well as Valpolicella - in the beautiful Mezzane valley, east of Verona; she has been in partnership with Fortnum’s since 2002, and this wine is exclusive to us. The vines are farmed biodynamically, a complex process that shows through in intense fragrances of cherry with a hint of smoke and in the wine’s delicate persistence in the glass, with notes of damson, black cherry and redcurrant that will work beautifully with game, particularly venison, and with lamb.
