Fortnum's Primitivo, Vallone, 75cl

Agricole Vallone is a distinguished family estate in the heart of Puglia - the 'heel of Italy' - where viticulture and agriculture have been central to the family’s way of life since 1935. It is today one of Salento’s most respected wine producers, managing around 600 hectares of land across three historic estates. Vineyards account for roughly 170 hectares, with the remainder dedicated to other agricultural crops, including some of the oldest olive groves in the country. Vallone are committed to cultivating indigenous southern Italian grape varieties, such as our excellent Primitivo. It displays ripe plum and cherry fruit, with spice, supple tannins and a warm, inviting finish. Perfect for pizza, casual midweek dinners or picnics. Jasmine Hortop's illustration references the traditional rural peasant “Trulli” houses, unique to this part of Puglia. The conical roofs have a distinctive geometry and memorable surface patterns.
