Fortnum's Brunello di Montalcino, 75cl

Obtained from a selection of Sangiovese grapes and brimming with history, our Brunello di Montalcino is the result of antique traditions that have been used to maintain the fullness of the fruit. The wine is then aged in Slavonian and French oak barrels for about three years, followed by two years ageing in bottle until ready for release.

Exceptionally bold fruit flavours, including cherries and dried cranberry, blend with earthier notes of espresso and soil. On the palate, there are mouth-gripping tannins and high acidity with notes of blackberry, violets and dried rose. Pair with red meats, poultry, game, lamb, sausages, aged pecorino or parmesan cheeses.

Fine tannins in the bottle will require decanting, open 30 minutes before to breathe.
