Fortnum's Haut Médoc, Tours de Charmail, 75cl

Château Charmail is situated just outside the St. Estèphe appellation and its wines share many characteristics – deep colour, ripe fruit and a sturdy, tannic backbone. A medium-bodied red, our Haut Medoc is the second wine of this fantastic property, Tours de Charmail, and shows many of the hallmarks of the grand vin. Crucially, it is that little bit more approachable when young. This judicious blend of hand-picked Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is aged in small oak barrels, making it crisp and of a lovely acidity. Pair with a leg of Welsh Lamb for an indulgent dining experience.
