Fortnum's Chianti Classico, Riecine, 75cl

The vineyards of Riecine, a Fortnum’s partner since 2002, were modernised by Englishman John Dunkley, who bought the estate from the neighbouring monastery in 1971. Today, these steep, south-facing slopes around the pretty town of Gaiole are organically farmed, producing beautiful Sangiovese to make wines like this delicious Chianti Classico, which is packed with dark cherries and plums, has soft tannins, bright acidity and a touch of dark chocolate on the finish. Pair with lamb, venison or our Brillat-Savarin cheese.
