Fortnum's Chianti Classico, Riecine, 75cl

Riecine is one of the jewels in Chianti Classico, located in the cool northern hills outside Gaiole. Its vineyards, planted between 450-600 metres, are on limestone, schist and clay soils, producing wines with remarkable mineral precision and aromatic lift. Owner-winemaker Alessandro Campatelli farms the vineyards organically and takes a low intervention approach in the cellar, producing a pure and soulful expression of Sangiovese. A Fortnum’s partner since 2002, Riecine’s style is classical and refined: vibrant cherry, wild herbs, floral perfume and savoury spice framed by bright acidity and graceful tannins.

Tasting Note
A distinctive, expressive and fragrant Chianti Classico. Succulent sour cherries, wild strawberry, dried herbs and spice are the hallmarks of this Fortnum’s classic. It has elegant tannins and a beautiful freshness.
