Vini da Luca Virgola Bianco IGT Sicilia, 75cl

Virgola is the personal project of Luca Zumbo, who farms organically on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, drawing on his family’s century-old vineyards. Made from mass-selected Carricante grown on volcanic soils at 650 metres above sea level, the wine is produced with minimal intervention. Hand-harvested grapes are softly pressed and fermented in stainless steel, with no skin contact or malolactic fermentation, followed by five months on the lees with regular bâtonnage. Bright and precise, it offers aromas of citrus, orchard fruit and wet stone. The palate is taut and mineral, with vibrant acidity and a clean, saline finish. Ideal with seafood, vegetable dishes and simple Mediterranean fare.
