Treu Gruner Veltliner Federspiel Hirtzberger, 75cl

The Hirtzberger family have been winemakers for 5 generations and Mathias Hirtzberger established his own winery down the river from his brother’s in 2015, where the climate is a touch warmer.

Showcasing the flagship grape of Austria, this wine is made from 100% Grüner Veltliner. Expressing a floral yet peppery taste, the wine also boasts a citrus-rich nose of limes and lemons. The grapes are grown in different vineyard plots around the estate, then blended together to showcase the best features of each site. A bright wine with a yellow and green palate, this wine displays a lovely minerality alongside flavours of white peach, citrus and fines herbs.

This style of Grüner Veltliner would be wonderfully paired with peppery salad leaves or vegetable-oriented dishes to complement the herbaceous character of the wine.
