Father's Day Cocktails
DISCOVER FOUR DRINKS RECIPES WITH PLENTY OF SPIRIT
With Sunday 19 June just around the corner, we've crafted a quartet of glorious Father's Day-ready cocktails using four of our favourite Fortnum's Spirits. Rich with provenance and exceptional ingredients, skillfully made by our artisan distillers, and bursting with gorgeous flavours - discover all four below, alongside a glorious cocktail made with each bottle.
Fortnum's Fizz
With Cassis Gin
Made using our own Herefordshire-grown English Cassis liqueur, natural botanicals and Yorkshire spring water, our English Cassis Gin marries berry fruit aromas with delicious notes of blackcurrant and liquorice to create a tipple that’s equally good served neat or in a cocktail.
To make, shake 50ml English Cassis Gin, 4-5 stalks of lemon thyme, 20ml of fresh lemon juice and 15ml sugar syrup (made with 2 parts sugar to 1 part water) with cubed ice. Double strain into a glass, then top with 20ml Fortnum’s Champagne, and garnish with a stalk of lemon thyme.


Sloe Negroni
With Sloe Gin
Distilled in small batches and bottled by hand, this Fortnum’s twist on a traditional English tipple marries juniper, coriander, cardamom, orris root and citrus botanicals with sloes, softened to their fullest flavour and juiciness for four months. Delicious neat, our Sloe Gin is equally good with tonic or lemonade in a refreshing long drink.
To make, pour 25ml Sloe Gin, 25ml Campari and 25ml Martini Reserva Ambrato into a rocks glass, stir, then garnish with an orange wedge.
Barley Old Fashioned
With English Barley Vodka
Extraordinary in both taste and provenance, our Barley Vodka is made with Berkshire-grown English Barley malted at Britain’s oldest working maltings, and distilled at West London’s Bimber Distillery - where our Master Distillers use small batch ‘single shot’ distillations to retain the full character of the barley in each sip.
To make, stir 60ml Barley Vodka, a teaspoon of maple syrup, a pinch of sea salt and 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters in a rock glass with cubed ice, then garnish with lemon zest and enjoy.


Honey Spiced Tea Fizz
With Vodka Liqueur
Infused with Fortnum’s own Isle of Purbeck honey from hives in the Dorset countryside, each bottle of our Honey Spiced Vodka Liqueur is handcrafted exclusively for Fortnum’s in batches of 100, and delivers notes and aromas of vanilla, spice, caramel, mixed fruit and honey in abundance.
To make, shake 25ml Vodka Liqueur, 5ml sugar syrup (made from 2 parts sugar to 1 part water), 15ml fresh lemon juice with cubed ice. Fine strain into a Champagne flute, infuse a teabag of Fortnum’s Countess Grey for 30-40 seconds, then remove and top with Fortnum’s Champagne. Finally, garnish with three cranberries on a cocktail pick, and serve.
