Crafted in Chiswick, London by Sipsmith Gin, this exceptional gin pays homage to a recipe dating back to 1639—the first in the UK to blend juniper, citrus, and spices, shaping what we now know as modern gin. Master Distiller Jared Brown, alongside historian Anistatia Miller, unearthed this recipe, revealing that gin's true origins lie in Britain, not Holland as some have thought. Sipsmith sees this as an opportunity to bring history full circle, by rewriting the gin story from its very beginning.
On the nose, you'll find a delightful mix of bright berries, juniper, gentle spice, and a whisper of vanilla. The palate is led by juniper, followed by lush berry notes with a warming spice backbone, and touches of vanilla and toffee. The finish leaves a subtle sweetness from the berries, tapering into a smooth, dry close, typical of a classic London Dry Gin.
