Rioja Blanco Bodegas Murua 2022, 75cl

This clean, bright wine has a delicate, fresh aroma with hints of pear, camomile and thyme. Made by the same producer of our Fortnum’s Rioja, the nose is uplifting with good acidity, reflecting the wine’s youth. The mid-palate shows personality, intensity and length, while the finish is harmonious and sweet. The wood, that combines so well on the whole, appears again in the aftertaste. This wine’s complexity is reflected in the camomile tones, a pleasant touch of honey suckle and different aromas that mingle with elegant fragrances of the French and American oak chosen for aging.

The Murua estate owns over 80 hectares of organically grown vineyards. This wine comes from a total of 3 hectares of vineyards, of between 40 and 80 years-of-age, with goblet-trained vines and low yields. Native varietals such as Viura, Malvasia and White Grenache, situated at the head of several vines and grown in exactly the same way as in times gone by in Elciego and the rest of the Rioja Alavesa.
