Crafted in Scotland by celebrated weavers House of Edgar, Fortnum's Tartan Lambswool Picnic Blanket has been exclusively designed by tartan specialist Araminta Campbell. The 100% brushed lambswool rug seamlessly blends our Eau de Nil with a timeless tartan pattern that is directly inspired by our unique heritage.

Whilst our signature Eau de Nil is at the centre of the design, the bright flame yellow hues recall Fortnum’s beginnings as being resellers of candle wax from the royal household. The deep red echoes the colour of our store’s carpets running throughout the interiors, and the outer red check consists of 12 threads, representing the service Fortnum & Mason has provided to 12 Royal Monarchs – including HM Queen Elizabeth II. Finally, let’s not forget bees – the pale yellow tramlines placed across the soft green ground are an homage to our beloved beehives on our Piccadilly store rooftop.
