Fortnum's House Tartan Lambswool Scarf

Some 314-years in the making, Fortnum's first ever tartan has been well worth the wait. Made in Scotland with the help of tartan specialist Araminta Campbell – a spinner of yarns in both the literal and metaphorical sense – we spent over a year experimenting with fabric weights, dyes and weave to ensure the story of Fortnum's could be seen in every element of her designs.

Exclusively crafted for Fortnum's by House of Edgar, our House Tartan is directly inspired by our unique heritage. Bright flame yellow hues recall Fortnum’s beginnings as being resellers of candle wax from the royal household. Pale yellow tramlines pay homage to the beloved beehives upon our Piccadilly rooftop. Deep reds echo the colour of our store’s carpets running throughout the interiors, whilst the outer red check consists of 12 threads, each representing the service Fortnum & Mason has provided to 12 Royal Monarchs – including HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Made from 100% pure lambswool, Fortnum's House Tartan Scarf is brushed to a luxurious raised finish with purled fringes and a dense weave that provides excellent thermal benefits. Superbly soft and incredibly hard-wearing, it’s a timeless essential for any winter wardrobe.
