Founded in Beaune in 1880, Joseph Drouhin remains family-owned, based at its historic cellars beneath the town. It was here, during WWII, that Maurice Drouhin escaped Gestapo arrest through the cellar tunnels and was hidden by the nuns of the Hospices de Beaune. Today their vineyard holdings stretch from Chablis to the Côte d’Or, with many Grand and Premier Cru sites, all farmed biodynamically. The house style is defined by elegance, purity and minimal intervention: indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction and restrained oak.

Tasting Note
This classic Chardonnay is grown on Jurassic limestone beneath the incredible rock formations of the Mâconnais region. It is ripe and zesty with notes of apple, white flowers and hazelnut inflections.

Food Pairing
Grilled chicken; creamy mushroom pasta; trout; soft cheeses.
