Fortnum's Rioja Crianza, Murua, 75cl

Bodegas Murua, located in Rioja Alavesa, produces delicious wines that strike a lovely balance between classical and modern-styled Rioja. Our Crianza is a blend of Tempranillo and Mazuelo, aged in a combination of French and American oak for 16 months. It displays rich, plummy fruit with notes of vanilla and dried flowers. The comforting oak-accented palate has a generous, mouth filling texture. It is polished, juicy and delicious; everything you could want from a classic Rioja. The label design is a nod to this traditional wine region's strong modernist movement, as illustrator Jasmine Hortop draws on the influence of Bilbao's Guggenheim and Spanish artists Miró and Picasso, to give this classic wine a bold, contemporary twist.

Tasting Note
Classical style Rioja with spiced red berries, gentle cocoa notes and a hearthside cosiness. This Crianza is broad and elegant – made for hard cheeses, roast lamb or unwinding after a long day.
