Fortnum's Old Vine Garnacha, 75cl

Just south-west of Zaragoza sits Bodegas Frontonio, an exciting new winery (founded in 2013) that is the brainchild of Fernando Mora and Mario López. Their aim is to revive the reputation of Aragon’s Grenache (known in Spain as Garnacha), and they are using old vines and traditional farming methods to do so. This pale garnet wine is mineral, refreshing, with fine tannins, a fragrance of flowers and strawberries and a hint of pepper on the palate. Serve with pasta in tomato sauce, duck or lamb.
