Fortnum’s Sancerre Blanc, Firmin Dezat, 75cl

The Dezat family is one of the oldest winegrowing families in the Sancerre region, with records back to the 1500s. Firmin Dezat is the 18th generation to make wine at their estate. This young, passionate winemaker makes our Sancerre from vineyards around the village of Verdigny. The vines all grow on the famous chalk and flint soils of the region, and are farmed with minimal intervention, encouraging soil health and biodiversity. Our delicious Sancerre appeals for its gentle white floral character, mineral inflections and bright citrus core.

Tasting Note
Bright, elegant and mineral-driven with fragrant aromas of citrus zest and white peach, layered with delicate flinty notes. The palate is crisp and precise, showing lemon, a subtle herbaceous freshness, balanced by vibrant acidity and classic limestone-driven minerality.
