Daftmill 15 Year Old Whisky, Bottled 2024, 70cl

This Daftmill lowland whisky is from Fife, one of only a handful of traditional farming distilleries in the country that distill the crops that they grow themselves on their farm.

From one of 27 barrels of whisky distilled in December 2011, bottled in 2024, the whisky boasts notes of pear drops, vanilla, buttery shortbread, red apple skins and rye crackers on the nose.

The palate opens with citrus flavours, a little bit more acidic, with a warm brown sugar sweetness underneath. There are notes of vanilla and buttery pastry with a long finish, mostly warm vanilla and lemon balm, a good mouthfeel with a real syrupy texture. The 5% PX within is noticeable as well as a handful of raisins scattered throughout the palate.
