Weston Micro-Strizzate Scarf, Purple & Orange

Exclusive to Fortnum & Mason, this stunning purple and orange scarf boasts one of Richard Weston's unique strizzatte images. Created by combining a technique originated by Renaissance painters with the latest digital microscopy, the design has been made by squeezing (which is what strizzatte means in Italian) acrylic paints between glass sheets, then scanning them at very high resolution. Beautiful and never before seen, the gently flowing greens and blues seem reminiscent of a pastoral scene with the rich reds of autumns also beginning to appear. It is subtle and beautiful - even more so as a large, satin silk scarf.
