Veuve Fourny Monts de Vertus Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru, 2016, 75cl

This small-grower Champagne producer of just 8.5 hectares is loved by sommeliers across France and increasingly so in London. A word-of-mouth wonder, the Champagnes are created with no chemicals or fertilisers used in the vineyards, and all Veuve Fourny champagnes are sourced exclusively from the village of Vertus. This being the Côte des Blancs, Chardonnay is the grape variety chiefly espoused.

Sourced from the same terroir as Larmandier-Bernier’s acclaimed Terre de Vertus and when tasted blind could be confused for a great white Burgundy. Superlative.
