Vertente in Portuguese means angle, slope, aspect and refers to the diversity of terroirs the Douro Valley has.
The grapes come from Niepoort’s estate Quinta de Nápoles and include the classic varieties – Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela amongst others. The wine is made in a way that promotes gentle extraction and sees some time is seasoned barriques before bottling.
The style is lively and elegant with a core of fresh black fruits dried herbs and a gentle touch of oak, finishing long and balanced.
