Mount Gay claims to be not only the oldest rum distillery in Barbados, but in the world. The factual written evidence points to their being an operating distillery on the site in 1703, but many believe that rum had been produced there since 1493.The estate is named after Sir John Gay Alleyne, who managed the Mount Gilboa estate, where the distillery stood, in the 18th century.

This exceptional discovery pack is your chance to enjoy three rums from Mount Gay: Eclipse, Black Barrel and XO.

Mount Gay Eclipse is a fruity, floral rum with aromas of banana, apricot, vanilla and honeysuckle on the nose. The palate offers notes of toasted oak, juicy fruit and soft smoke that linger into the finish.

Mount Gay Black Barrel is a blend of older rums, matured for between three and seven years, and finished in heavily-charred ex-bourbon casks for six months before bottling. Complex aromas of toasted oak, warm spices, apples and oranges fill the nose. The palate offers a balance of bold spices and juicy fruit, with hints of sweet caramel and creamy vanilla.

Mount Gay XO rum is made with rums matured in a combination of American whiskey, ex-bourbon and ex-Cognac casks for between five and 17 years. The result is a spicy, fruity rum with a creamy, smooth palate.
