Louis Roederer demonstrates adaptability to climate change in this outstanding Champagne, the 244th blend since the Champagne House's inception in 1776. The wine is well-balanced, possessing a rich and luscious power, along with superb freshness from the Réserve Perpétuelle.

This wine has a complex aroma of ripe fruit like wild peaches and William pears, along with hints of citrus from lemons and blood oranges. Smoky and iodized notes, along with aging in wood, contribute to a fresh scent. On the palate, the wine is delicious with a rich and robust texture. It feels juicy and concentrated, reminiscent of biting into a ripe fruit. The texture is soft and comforting, coating the palate, but the delicate bubbles bring a lightness. The length of the flavour is enhanced by a refreshing backbone of chalky notes.

Dry, continental and magnificently mature from a year of record-breaking heat waves, the 2019 harvest - 54% of the blend - was one of unusual intensity, creating fresh, dense wines with a masterful balance. After four years tucked away in its cellars, Collection 244 expresses the unique terroirs and exceptional harvest from which it originates.
