Fortnum's Late Bottled Vintage Port, Niepoort, 20cl

The small port shipping house of Niepoort has been handcrafting outstanding ports since 1842. Dirk Niepoort is currently fifth generation of the family to personally oversee every wine which leaves the famous Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. Their extraordinary reputation is founded on a commitment to ancient vineyards, still treading most of their grapes in old granite ‘lagares’ and bottling without filtration. As such, they remain regarded by many as the guardians of authentic port production.

The final blend for Fortnum's Late Bottled Vintage was approved by our Wine Buyer prior to its bottling in December 2010. It is a full-bodied port with rich black cherry and fruitcake notes, bearing all the hallmarks of great provenance. It may be enjoyed now, or cellared for up to a decade.
