Coudoulet de Beaucastel Blanc, 75cl

This lively, uplifting wine is the product of hand-picked grapes that have been sorted by hand and gently pressed. An elegant blend of Bourboulenc (30%), Marsanne (30%), Viognier (30%), and Clairette (10%), it has been produced by Château de Beaucastel and Famille Perrin – one of the pre-eminent producers from the Southern Rhone appellation of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Coudoulet is the part of the estate which sits outside of the boundaries and therefore is determined with the Côtes du Rhône appellation. It consists of 30 hectares of vines, which are planted on very similar soils to those of the main estate.

The nose reveals freshness and a delicate aromatic bouquet with citrus fruit and pomelo combined with white flowers of bergamot and lime blossom. The superb vitality continues through to the palate which is very well balanced with a full finish. The energy of the wine enhances fresh seafood dishes, particularly crab, fishcakes or langoustine. The presence of the Viognier also makes this wine a great partner to Turkey or Chicken.
