Chante Allouette Cormeil Saint Emilion Grand cru 2002, 75cl

Grown on land owned by the Delol family since 1818, this incredible 11 hectare property is located between two hamlets – Chante Alouette and Cormeil. The focus here is on Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon providing acidity, structure and some cassis notes to the final blend. The nose is almost thick with blackberries, but on the palate it is round, full, with cooked fruits, held by tannins both fine and dense, allowing it to age for another two to four years.

Best served with classic meat dishes, including beef, lamb or even chicken.
