Established in 1903 and now ran by Matthew Argyros, 4th generation winemaker. One of the most notable Greek wineries and based in Santorini, the vineyards boast ungrafted, phylloxera-safe, original rootstock.

Argyros considers Assyrtiko to be a heritage grape and their wine reflects the pure character of this variety. Exclusively hand-harvested from volcanic soils, these vines, averaging 100-120 years old, produce completely dry wine with high natural acid. Crystal yellow in colour with flavours of citrus fruits, lemongrass and stone, this wine is medium bodied and crisp with a long aftertaste. This unique grape celebrated all over Santorini and now the whole of Greece combines great elegance, finesse and minerality.

As the Assyrtiko Estate Argyros is strong flavoured wine, it is a fantastic accompaniment to seafood and in particular shellfish, oysters, grilled seabream or bass.
