The Art of the Exceptional, a Jubilee Celebration of Makers

Craft, creativity and exceptionally-talented makers: Fortnum's has a long history of supporting each.
To mark the occasion of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we're delighted to continue that tradition by hosting ‘The Art of the Exceptional, a Jubilee Celebration of Makers’, a series of four exhibitions across our 3rd floor at Piccadilly, in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST).
Taking place across March, April, May and June, the four exhibitions are a celebration of the wealth of talent supported by QEST and of our ongoing commitment to all things craft – from typography and illustration, to makers working in wicker, clay, wood, glass, leather, metal and more.
The crowning moment of the exhibition will be the creation of the 'Jubilee Hamper' – a one-of-a-kind handmade wicker, filled with artisan products created during the exhibition.
Launching in parallel with our ‘Scent of Summer’ exhibition – an exuberant celebration of all things floral, coinciding with the June Bank Holiday Jubilee Weekend – all profits from the hamper will be donated towards a new QEST scholarship, fostering the makers of the future.
Curated by Brian Kennedy, each exhibition will introduce three makers commissioned to produce objects for the hamper, alongside a selection of their work and other QEST scholars within their field.
Join us at Piccadilly between 14th March and 19th June, and you'll have the chance to meet these exceptional creatives, see their work and be inspired by the stories behind their practice.
Throughout the entire run, our 3rd floor will also play host to a handpicked and ever-evolving showcase of products from our fellow Royal Warrant holders – businesses, like Fortnum’s, whose work has been recognised by the Royal family for the quality of its craftsmanship and its enduring quality.
