Paddington in Peru at Fortnum & Mason

A Very Special Bear has
arrived at Fortnum's!
~~~
Each of us friendly and intrepid explorers with a taste for adventure and well-made marmalade, Fortnum's and Paddington are kindred spirits indeed.
So to mark the release of PADDINGTON IN PERU in cinemas on November 8th, we've partnered with the inimitable bear to create a collection of exclusive products and delicious edible experiences — and a limited edition hamper, too — all inspired by Paddington's many joyful exploits.
Read on to find out more about the cherishable creations awaiting at Fortnum's. Did somebody say Emergency Marmalade?
Llama Milk Chocolate Plaque
~~~
Adorned with a charming, hand-piped llama — the national animal of Peru, of course — and made from a delightful mix of milk, dark, and coloured white chocolate, this smooth Belgian milk chocolate plaque has been crafted to celebrate Paddington's latest adventure, and is almost as sweet as Paddington himself. Almost.
Paddington in Peru Mug
~~~
The perfect teatime companion in which to enjoy your favourite Fortnum’s brew, this colourful mug is handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent by a team of over 20 highly-skilled artisans, using high-quality clay sourced from St. Austell in Cornwall. With carefully hand-applied handles and intricate decals, each mug is a wonderful keepsake-in-waiting. And if you're enjoying marmalade on toast with your tea, so much the better...
Marmalade Sandwich Truffles
~~~
Speaking of marmalade, these marvellous Truffles feature a sweet and subtly bitter marmalade ganache, made with our signature Sir Nigel’s Marmalade. Crafted from a blend of rich 40% milk chocolate and 62% dark chocolate —both sourced from the Esmeraldas Mache Chindul rainforest in Ecuador — each truffle hides its supremely smooth centre beneath a crisp, sourdough-crumbed chocolate shell, for a delightful crunch. And the marmalade adventures don't end there...
Emergency Marmalade
~~~
Paddington is never knowingly without marmalade on hand – and neither are we. So naturally enough, we’ve created a special recipe which, much like Paddington himself, is a wonderful mixture of the classic and the adventurous.
A medium cut masterpiece that's delicious in a marmalade sandwich – and perfect for any other marmalade-related emergencies that might pop up — we've added zesty Peruvian lime to a traditional Seville orange recipe, creating a scrumptiously light, bright, and citrussy jar. And best of all, there's no need to keep this particular jar under your hat.
Bear Essentials Iced Biscuits
~~~
Beautifully hand-decorated and almost too elegant to eat, these iced vanilla biscuit feature designs inspired by Paddington's life and adventures. Alongside his emergency marmalade, suitcase and hat – the essentials needed for any trip – we've included rather fetching llama, the national animal of Paddington's native Peru, and where his latest film takes place.
Paddington's Afternoon Tea
in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, Piccadilly
~~~
Available exclusively in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at our Piccadilly flagship store, a very special Paddington-inspired Children's Top Plate joins the iconic sandwiches, scones and tea on Fortnum's Afternoon Tea menu.
The top plate features a selection of sweetly-crafted confections, all baked in-house by Fortnum's chefs — from a 'Peruvian Llama' Iced Biscuit and an edible 'Paddington's Suitcase' — made from Peruvian chocolate mousse and decorated to look like Paddington's ever-present luggage — to a 'Vanilla Paw Pop', made from soft vanilla cake, dipped in white chocolate and decorated with a bear-like paw print.
Priced at £35pp, the Paddington Afternoon Tea can be ordered on the day, and includes scones, sandwiches and a choice of juice, and is available to guests aged 4-10 years only...so any older diners will need to convince their younger diner to share!
