The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon is Reopening on 17th May
Following the latest announcement, we are happy to say that we are taking bookings at the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon from 17th May.
It’s not long until we can welcome you back until into our Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. We’ve had a lot of time on our hands – 147 days to be exact. So we decided to use that time to practice our craft. All 35 of our chefs, 70 deft hands; baking trays by the dozen; countless cups of tea; 43 tastings (and re-tastings) and 1 extraordinary, new Afternoon Tea menu.
Opening Times from 17th May
Monday – Thursday | 12pm - 6.30pm |
Friday | 11.30am - 7pm |
Saturday | 11.30am - 7.30pm |
Sunday | 11.30am - 6pm |
about the tea salon
Our Tea Salon has been a great many things for over 313 years. It began as an apartment for the Fortnum family, then became an interior decorating department in the 1920s and 1930s, and later an antiques department and a restaurant known as St. James’s. Since 2012 it has paid homage to the timeless tradition of Afternoon Tea.
Epitomising the sophistication of Afternoon and High Tea in all its splendour, our Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon was named in honour of Her Majesty’s visit in 2012, when she formally opened the room, in the company of their Royal Highnesses the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge. And today and every day, it is the perfect place for your Afternoon Tea party.
Create Afternoon Tea at Home
There's nothing quite like taking Afternoon Tea at Fortnum's. But while we're closed, you can still recreate the experience of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon in your own home with our wonderful array of tea, treats and teaware (then all you need is a live pianist...)
