Côte Rôtie Cuvée Réviniscence, Faury, 75cl

Lionel Faury is a star winemaker at this top division family owned Estate. The “ Tres Brunes “ Cuvee is from 3 plots in Cote Rotie totalling only 1.7 hectares from South East facing steep slopes ( some at 45 degrees ! ) Vines were planted between 1993 and 2008. All the fruit is hand harvested, 80% of the grapes are de stemmed and this cuvee comprises 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier, 80% of the grapes are de stemmed and the cuvee is aged18 months in a mixture of mainly 600L litre and some 220Litre French oak barrels with a light toast. Only 30% new oak is used as Lionel wants to express the fruit flavour above all hence the use of large older oak barrels. Lionel’s wines have a wonderful purity, soft tannins and show great freshness. Ideal with flavoursome beef and lamb dishes, wild mushroom risotto and hard cheeses
