An Ode to Mum

Our Ode to Mum
Who was it who stood on the sidelines at your first football match, soaked by the blustery elements, to cheer you on? Who consoled you while you were in the throes of your first of many heartbreaks, being a shoulder to cry on into the early hours of the morning? Who was it that warned you not to climb that tree in case you hurt yourself, before you climbed that tree and hurt yourself? It was mum - and in our opinion, every mum out there deserves nothing short of the world.
But while we may not be able to promise mum quite that, what we can gift them is something just as special. Our thanks. Thanks for all the times they’ve gone above and beyond for us, from making sure we had a ride home after that concert we were so excited to see, to the smaller, more everyday things, such as helping us find that favourite t-shirt we had spent hours convinced was lost… only for mum to find it instantly.
This Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate this special person, the often unsung hero of our lives. Thank you, mum. And while we may be older now (and only ever so slightly wiser), there'll always be things we can learn from you. Mother knows best, after all.
So here’s a little pick-me-up for all the times you picked us up, a bubble for every time we’ve worried you silly, and an extra moment in bed for all those occasions we kept you out of yours.
P.s. sorry for not always eating our greens.
