Germany

German white wine is mostly produced in the west of the country, along the river Rhine and its tributaries. Germany makes some of the world’s finest white wines - so do not be put off by mass-produced poor-quality offerings such as Liebfraumilch. Riesling’s ancestral home is Germany, and the country is renowned for its zesty low-alcohol off-dry wines, such as our Mosel Riesling. An unusually pleasant recent side-effect of global warming is that the country is now producing some excellent dry whites from Mosel, Rheingau and the Nahe.
