About Fayolle Fils et Fille

Originally formed in 1870, Domaine de Fayolle Fils & Fille at Gervans, is a real family affair. Managed by brother and sister Laurent Fayolle and Céline Nodin and with vineyards composed of old vines – the average age being forty years, there is a focus on the detail here, with great care and attention paid to hand-harvesting the grapes.

The older vines give smaller yields, making for a greater concentration of flavour and acidity. The resulting wines are absolutely exceptional and, trust us, we don’t use that word lightly!

The whites are unusually good for Crozes-Hermitage, a year name generally more successful in reds. The Pontaix white displays clarity and elegance, with notes of honey and white flowers. The red Pontaix is marked by rich, gamey dark notes over black fruit, yet also shows the elegance and refinement which is increasingly signature of this estate.

One of the greatest red wines from Syrah. Fermented in wooden vats then aged for 12 months, resutling in a wine that tastes of peppery black fruits with firm but fine tannins.

A clear and refreshing wine with powerful structure carrying complex tropical fruit. Wonderfully balanced with supreme minerality and razor-like acidity. A beautiful partner for aromatic dishes.
