About André Brunel
The Brunel family has lived in the Southern Rhône region since the 18th century. Andre Brunel's grandfather established the family's own winemaking tradition, and Andre himself took over the reins of running the Cailloux estate from his father in 1971. Under Andre's expert direction, Les Cailloux has become recognised as a world-class domaine, with the vineyard holdings today span 80 hectares throughout the southern Rhône region.
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
Andre Brunel makes our white Châteauneuf in tiny quantities from 2 vineyard plots, and no oak is used in the ageing process, allowing the pure fruit of the grapes to express themselves fully. Its intense floral scent is both fruity and honey-like. Its fine structure is enhanced by a fresh mineral quality and a persistent rich finish.
Chateauneuf du Pape
This wonderful wine is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, and 15% Syrah. The wine is aged for 18 months, partially in oak and is then bottled without fining or filtration. The heat of the south of France provides a typically rich palate but there is finesse poise and beautifully integrated tannins on the finish.
Cotes du Rhone
Andre Brunel's red Côtes du Rhône is one of the finest available. It is exceptionally well made, with a sound base and plenty of fruit. The deep colour is complemented by a classic spicy, peppery bouquet, with black fruit overtones. On the palate the wine is luscious and soft with ripe fruit flavours and a powerful finish.
