This delicious DOP Extremadura Ibérico de bellota ham is made from the meat of animals that have fattened on acorns for 10 to 12 weeks on the local dehesa then cured for more than 3 years. The resulting ham has an intense savoury aroma and a complex flavour that combines sweet nuttiness with a salty depth and a lingering, satisfying aftertaste.

Señorio de Montanera, based in Badajoz, Extremadura, specialise in the production of acorn fed hams. The company was founded by a group of Ibérico pig breeders whose aim was to create a business that would control the whole process of producing Ibérico ham – from birth to the final product.
