Product description
Produced exclusively in the Tignanello Estate in a parcel of some 140 acres with limestone-rich soils and a southwestern exposure at 400 meters, this is a wine of many firsts. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first red wine to blended with non-traditional varieties and one of the first Chianti reds not to use white grapes.

Made from a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet France, this wine is aged in barriques for 12 months and then a further 12 months in bottles. With an intense ruby red colour and purple highlights, this wine has red fruit notes with hints of sweet spices and underbrush. On the palate, the flavours are fresh and vibrant with supple and balanced tannins. The finish and aftertaste are both long and sustained.
