Fortnum's Valpolicella, Corte Sant'Alda
Here, in the foothills of the Dolomites, local grapes such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara are grown on the steep, south-facing slopes of the glacial moraines.
The grapes are grown according to organic principles which minimises the use of chemical treatments.
All the grapes are still harvested by hand and each autumn the wine ferments and matures in large wooden tanks in much the same way as it has for centuries.
Our Valpolicella is a light and elegant red with notes of black cherry, damson and redcurrant. Please note that it is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic liquor if you are under the age of 18.Please note that the case discount promotion cannot be applied to this line. For a full list of ingredients and allergens, please contact us here.
The bright, fresh acidity and natural Morello cherry character in our Valpolicella allows it to partner perfectly with otherwise tricky pasta sauces - where the rich, ripe sweetness of tomato sauce can be too much for other wines to handle.
