Domaine Cauhape Symphonie de Novembre Jurancon Half Bottle, 37.5cl
In 1970, owner, winemaker and label artist, Henri Ramonteu took over his family’s cattle farm in Monein in south west France. He sold the cattle, purchased four hectares of vines and started Domaine Cauhapé.
‘Symphonie de Novembre’ is made from 100% Petit Manseng. The grapes were whole bunch pressed into 225 litre barriques, followed by fermentation. The wine spent 10 months in oak and four weeks in stainless steel before bottling. Remarkably intense on the nose, the aromas are a perfect blend of exotic and citrus fruits, with notes of resin, spice and toast. The palate is smooth and aromatic, lifted by ripe fruit flavours, and notes of pineapple, quince and chestnut. A complex and delicate wine.
Excellent paired with foie gras, tarte tatin, sorbets or hard cheese.
