Fortnum's Windows

Our New Year's Resolution List

They’re funny old things, New Year’s resolutions. They’re often seem to be about stopping, giving up, or changing things. So this January, when everyone is depriving themselves of this and that, we thought we’d rather start as we mean to go on.

What does this mean, exactly? Well, while our quest for self-improvement is perpetual – you don’t reach the rather advanced age of 312 by staying complacent, after all – this year, we’ve jotted down eight specific mantras to help us really, properly live life to the full. It could be our last day on earth tomorrow – and nobody deserves to cash in their chips without having sampled all six Fortnum’s Fancies, do they? (This is only an example – rest assured we have tried all of them many times over).

To spread our irrepressible sense of optimism about the year ahead amongst all friends of Fortnum’s, we’ve put them in our Piccadilly windows, as you can see below. Cheers to a year filled with positivity - or should that be positivi-tea? We’ll take a cup of both.

Life, of course, meaning biscuits.
Because life is biscuits.

The day that our Ruby Chocolate fails to raise a smile is one that we never wish to see.
